Warranty Policy

Below is a full write up of our current warranty policy. If you have any further questions or need something clarified, be sure to get in contact with our team.

Consumer Guarantees

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality, and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Definition of Terms

Original Purchaser - any consumer that purchases and has possession of a Product directly from AFTERSHOCK PC.

End User - the ultimate consumer of the Product and constitutes anyone who owns and uses an AFTERSHOCK Product.

Date of Original Retail Purchase - the date the Original Purchaser bought the Product from AFTERSHOCK PC.

Scope of Warranty

AFTERSHOCK PC WARRANTS this AFTERSHOCK product (desktops, laptops, and accessories) against Manufacturer Defects for the following periods from the Date of Original Retail Purchase:

  • THREE (3) YEARS for Desktop Computers
  • TWO (2) YEARS for Laptop Computers
  • ONE (1) YEAR for Accessories

If an additional warranty is purchased, the warranty period may be extended by one year, resulting in up to FOUR (4) YEARS for Desktop Computers and up to THREE (3) YEARS for Laptop Computers.

This warranty applies only to AFTERSHOCK products. Any third-party products, peripherals, or accessories that are not manufactured by AFTERSHOCK will be covered under their respective manufacturer's warranty. Please refer to the original manufacturer’s warranty terms for those products.

AFTERSHOCK PC warrants that any part of the AFTERSHOCK products, excluding documentation, third-party software, and third-party peripherals, will be free of Manufacturer Defects for the warranty period included with the purchase.

Manufacturer Defects

Manufacturer Defects refer to flaws in the materials or workmanship of the product that impair its proper function under normal use. These defects may include:

  • Hardware malfunctions such as failures in the motherboard, CPU, GPU, RAM, or storage devices due to improper assembly or faulty components.
  • Assembly errors such as misaligned parts or poor-quality connections that affect the normal operation of the product.
  • Component defects like electrical faults or materials failing under normal operating conditions.

Coverage applies to issues that originate from flaws in materials or workmanship during the manufacturing process, ensuring that your system operates as intended under normal use conditions.

AFTERSHOCK PC will repair or replace any components found to have Manufacturer Defects free of charge, as outlined in the warranty terms.

a) Coverage

AFTERSHOCK PC guarantees the original purchaser that any part of the AFTERSHOCK product, excluding documentation, third-party software, and third-party peripherals, will be free of Manufacturer Defects for the warranty period, starting from the date of the original retail purchase.

During the product's warranty period, AFTERSHOCK PC will, at its discretion and in accordance with Australian Consumer Law (ACL):

  • Repair the product using new or refurbished replacement parts.
  • Replace the part or product with a new or refurbished part or product that is at least functionally equivalent to the original.
  • Offer a partial refund for products that experience a minor fault or major failure after a significant amount of time or use, taking into account the product's remaining expected lifespan.
  • Provide a full refund if the product experiences a major failure that significantly impacts its intended use.

All repairs and replacements will be conducted free of charge, including labor and parts. Replacement parts may not be identical but will be of equivalent or superior quality.

Exclusions from Warranty Coverage

The warranty does not cover the following:

  • Physical Damage: Damage resulting from accidents, abuse, misuse, or negligence, including but not limited to drops, spills, and improper handling.
  • Unauthorised Modifications or Repairs: Any damage or defects caused by unauthorised modifications, overclocking, undervolting, or repairs performed by anyone other than AFTERSHOCK PC or its authorised service providers.
  • Improper Maintenance: Damage caused by failure to properly maintain the product, such as not cleaning radiators, fans, filters, etc., which leads to overheating or other performance issues.
  • Operating with a Fault: Additional damage caused by continuing to use the product when it shows signs of failure, such as coolant leaks, overheating, etc.
  • Operating in Improper Environments: Damage caused by the use of the product in unsuitable environments, such as exposure to moisture, salt, dust, etc.
  • Improper System Settings: Damage caused by modifying AFTERSHOCK-configured settings (e.g., fan speeds on open-loop cooling systems) that lead to system issues, such as water exceeding component temperature thresholds, etc.
  • Voltage Manipulation: Issues arising from voltage manipulation, improper power supplies, or power surges are not covered.
  • Software Issues: Problems caused by software, including operating system corruption, malware infections, or conflicts with third-party software, are excluded from the warranty.
  • Custom Configurations: Custom software or hardware configurations, such as RAID setups, virtual machines (VMs), or other specialised settings, are not covered under the warranty. Customers are responsible for backing up their configurations.
  • Normal Wear and Tear: Regular wear and tear, including cosmetic damage like scratches, dents, or fading, is not covered under the warranty.
  • Improper Packaging for Returns: The original box and crate must be kept and used for returns. AFTERSHOCK PC is not responsible for any damage incurred during transit if proper packaging is not used.

Replacement Parts Warranty

Any replacement parts provided under this warranty are warranted to be free of Manufacturer Defects for:

  • Three (3) months from the date of replacement; or
  • The remainder of the original product's warranty period, whichever is longer.

b) Dead Pixel Policy

AFTERSHOCK Laptop LCD panels contain millions of pixels, each made up of red, green, and blue subpixels. Occasionally, one or more may malfunction, causing bright, dark, or coloured spots. AFTERSHOCK PC adheres to the ISO-9241-307:2008 Class 2 standard, which allows for up to two hot/dead pixels and five stuck pixels before a display is considered faulty.

  • 30-Day Zero Pixel Defect Warranty: Any pixel defect qualifies for repair or replacement within the first 30 days.
  • After 30 days, we follow the ISO standard, allowing for up to two hot/dead pixels and five stuck pixels before the display is classified as faulty.

c) Consumable Warranty

It is normal for batteries to lose charge capacity over time. For Aftershock laptops, AFTERSHOCK PC covers any loss of capacity greater than 15% per year within the warranty period. A loss below this threshold is considered normal wear and tear and is not covered under the warranty.

Coolant in open-loop systems will naturally evaporate over time. It is the end user's responsibility to monitor and maintain appropriate coolant levels. Coolant must be replaced after 18 months, and this is considered routine maintenance, which will be carried out at the customer's expense.

d) Procedure

If you find a defect in your AFTERSHOCK product, please contact our support team at support@aftershockpc.com.au. Our team will provide assistance via phone or email to diagnose and resolve the issue, often through remote support.

If the problem cannot be resolved remotely, the system will need to be serviced physically:

  • Carry-In Warranty: You are responsible for bringing the product to our Service Centre or covering the shipping costs to and from our Service Centre location.
  • Pickup and Return Warranty: AFTERSHOCK PC will cover shipping costs to and from our Service Centre within Australia.

The product must be returned in its original packaging, including protective foam. If original packaging is not used, AFTERSHOCK PC is not liable for any damage incurred during transit, and repairs due to transit damage will be at the customer’s expense.

Please provide the following when submitting a warranty claim:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Contact Number
  • Order Number

Diagnosis and Repairs:

AFTERSHOCK PC provides lifetime remote support, which includes assistance via email, phone call, and remote access sessions. This support covers:

  • Hardware issues
  • Aftershock-included software
  • Original system configuration

We are responsible for maintaining the system's stability as configured at purchase (this does not include user-customised settings).

If a resolution cannot be achieved remotely, return-to-base service may be required under the return-to-base warranty. Please note that a support ticket must be raised before your system is dropped off for service.

We typically respond to support inquiries within 24 hours during business hours. The time required for diagnosis and repairs may vary depending on the nature of the fault.

Graphics Cards Policy:

Graphics cards, except those labelled "Mining Series," are intended solely for use in desktop PCs. Using them for other purposes, such as blockchain computing or cryptocurrency mining, will void the warranty.
